Beet pulp is the fibrous material left over after the sugar is extracted from sugar beets. Beet pulp is rich in fiber and is unique in its form as it is soluble fiber and highly digestible.
Nutritionist Importance of Beet Pulp
Despite being a byproduct of sugar beet processing, beet pulp itself is low in sugar and other non-structural carbohydrates, but high in energy and fiber. Among other nutrients, it contains 10 percent protein, 0.8 percent calcium and 0.5 percent phosphorus. It has no Vitamin A, so additional forage or supplementation is required to provide complete nutrition .It is economical as compare Wheat and Maize.
How to Feed Beet Pulp?
Beet Pulp can be feed to animals in fresh or in silage form. Beet Pulp can be feed throughout the year if bunker safely. A standard ration of beet pulp for Animals is usually dry weight. Before feeding to Animals, beet pulp is usually soaked in water, at a ratio of one-part pulp to about four parts water. The maximum amount of water is absorbed after three to four hours, but it may be soaked for as little as one to two hours, especially in hot weather when there is a risk of fermentation. Most commercial feeds designed for geriatric Animals contain large amounts of beet pulp and are fed straight out of the bag without being soaked, and manufacturer's directions generally recommend giving such feeds dry unless the Animals has dental issues that make chewing difficult.
Sugar Beet pulp is the fibrous portion of the sugar beet, left after the sugar and liquid has been removed. It is mechanically pressed, dried, and then pelletized into a 5/16 (8mm) diameter pellet. The fiber in sugar beet pulp is highly digestible making it a good non-starch energy source for cattle and horses. It is a popular feed used by dairy farmers as a structural carbohydrate, and is also widely used as an ingredient in the production of pet foods.

It is specifically designed according to the problems of the traditional rotary dryer which is not suitable for high-moisture materials that MC is higher than 50% and the viscosity is relatively low. Meanwhile, since the black hole phenomenon occurring in the drum lowers the drying capacity and raises the energy consumption, the paddle rotary dryer sets high-speed spinning paddles, strengthening the crushing and separating function. The crushing effect enlarges the contact surface of particles, which largely increases the heat transfer rate and vaporization rate. Unlike sugar cane, sugar beet can grow in temperate climates, and is therefore a more popular alternative to cane in Europe and North America.

Refined table sugar is pure, crystallized sucrose, much in the same way that pure salt is simply sodium chloride. Sucrose is found naturally in honey, dates, and sugar maple sap, but it is most concentrated in sugarcane and sugar beets. The refining process renders the original plant irrelevant as the sucrose is completely extracted from the plant that produced it.
