Turkish thompson raisins are very popular in world markets with its similar taste and odour to californian style although its reasonable prices. Thompson raisins darker than sultana raisin, is because they are not treated with potassium carbonate and olive oil solution - hence the drying time is longer than sultanas. As they stay longer under the sun, they become darker in colour.
Sultanas are produced from varieties of seedless grapes, dried to concentrate their rich flavour. Normally it takes up to 3 weeks for the grapes to dry. To minimise the time and retain the light colour farmers use a potassium carbonate and olive oil solution which cracks the invisible membrane on the grape and speeds the drying time. Grapes dried in this manner are called sultanas.
During the production process, the importer countries’s laws and legislations as well as the customers’ specifications are strictly followed. Our quality team checks the physical and chemical quality of our products regularly from raw material until the finished product at the various stages of our production to ensure high quality . Our laboratory is equipped to analyse moisture and the sulphur level of the products. Raisins must be the most sold dried fruit on shelves on retail stores and most used fruit ingredient of bakery. They are the most popular fruit of fruit cakes, fruit bread, breakfeast cereals, muesli, fruit bars, fruit logs, chocolate coated fruits.
Raisin paste makes up 30-40% of meat sauces and is fastly getting into ice cream industry. Due its moisturizing effect, raisin paste extends the shelf life of bakery products it is used in, adds a fruity flavour and a gradient brownish colour.
Raisins and raisin paste are most nutritive (this is the fruit with highest iron content of all food items), fat content is zero. As fruit sugar in them are of the smallest molecules, they need no fermentation in digestive system so are an immediate source of energy.
Turkey is the worlds biggest producer (300.000 tons/year) and exporter (250.000 tons(year) of raisins and are very economical in price. They need no refrigerated store and their shelf life is very long. We shall be pleased to offer on reading your interest.
