Cod (lat. Gadus morhua) â?? bottom fish that feeds on invertebrates and fish. It grows up to 130 cm long and can weigh up to 35 kg. The body is spindly, the head is large, and the mouth is deep. A long mustache on the lower cheek. The body is greenish-gray or greenish-brown, mottled with brown spots. The scales are small. Lateral line gray, light, raised in front. Cod is a mild-tasting, juicy and very versatile fish: it can be stewed, cooked in soups, fried in a pan, or in the oven. It belongs to the category of lean fish, so it is suitable for diet food. Cod is a suitable food for children and those who are aware of the number of calories, especially at dinner.
This depends on the cut and firmness of the stockfish, the flesh can either be boiled for a short while with the beef or it can be added to the soup/ stew early so it can soften before the soup is fully ready.
