Coconut Oil is extracted from the kernel or meat of matured coconut harvested from the coconut palm. Throughout the tropical world, it has provided the primary source of fat in the diets of millions of people for generations. It has various applications in food, medicine and industry. What make coconut oil different from most other dietary are the basic building blocks or fatty acids making up the oil. Coconut oil is composed predominately of a special group of fat molecules knowns as medium chain fatty acids(MCFA). The majority of fats in human diet are composed almost entirely of long chain fatty acids(LCFA)

The coconut palm is and integral part of pacific identity;its is also the source of one of our greatest natural products - Virgin Coconut oil. Virgin Coconut Oil is becoming recognised both locally and internationally for its wonderful natural health benefits and its ability to generate meaningful employment for our rural island communities.

Tavulomo Coconut Processing Ltd specializes in manufacturing Culinary grade Raw Cold Pressed Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO). We have direct access to sustainably harvested naturally grown coconuts in the Bua region of Vanua Levu Fiji where our Production Plant is located.

We have total traceability on our Virgin Coconut Oil and have documentation to back this up.
Daily Production sheets recording all details:
Farm Owners name
Coconut Supplier name
Number of coconuts supplied and rejected and for what reason.
Production workers name employed on the day and what job they were doing.
Batch numbers and records for each 20 ltr container / 270ml retail glass jar of oil produced.

To make our Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) one of the best in the South Pacific we have International Quality Control procedures in place such as:
Good Manufacturing Practices
Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures
Bacteria testing

To confirm these standards before any Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) is exported we take samples from every 20 ltr container. This is sent to International Testing Company Eurofins NZ Laboratory Services Ltd for bacteria testing to ensure there are none of these bacteria present:
Listeria Detection
Salonella Detection
Yeasts and Moulds Count
Escherichia Coli Count.

Our Raw Virgin Coconut Oil has a unique flavor, which is only found in the South Pacific and it is achieved by using ONLY fresh, clean coconuts; which are supplied daily. The flavour is smooth mild and clean which makes it enjoyable to eat in a natural form. We acquire this taste by using natural gravity filtration. There are NO harsh chemicals, clays or mechanical cleaning processors involved in the manufacturing/filtering process of Tavulomo Raw Virgin Coconut Oil.

At the oil pressing stage, our oil is smelled and taste tasted by two staff members. Oil from the pressing room which doesn’t meet the criteria for smell and taste goes into the soap bucket and is recorded.

We take great care and pride in the production of our Raw Virgin Coconut Oil; we are a key employer for the Women of Tavulomo Village, who have limited employment opportunities.

The location of our Production Plant is well situated, making it easy to optimize our customer service. We have multiple transport options available, including several daily ferry services, which allow us to deliver stock within hours, either for the national market or for international exportation.

Virgin Coconut Oil:

Virgin Coconut is the most natural form of coconut oil;its is extracted from the coconut flesh with the minimal amount of processing i.e. no high heat or pressure and no harsh chemical solvents, bleaching agents, etc.

Virgin Coconut oil is completely unrefined; this ensures that the oil retains all the natural goodness of the coconut itself.

The beauty of Fiji shines through in the purity of its fresh produce. Our vast lands and tropical climate conditions are ideal for growing the highest grade of turmeric. The pure Fijian rain keeps our grounds at a Ph level of 7, promising a rich source of nutrients. Harvested in black clay loam and red soils, our turmeric grows in its natural habitat, undisturbed by mankind.

Our natural Fiji environment provides the ideal conditions for farming throughout the year, and yields the highest grade of this spice.

Hills provide a natural water flow system, which allows turmeric to be watered without accumulation, which would otherwise deteriorate the turmeric. The Fijian lands are perfect as they are without the need for commercial farming. We can produce turmeric without man- made energy, through sustainable farming. The untouched and undeveloped territories allow us to keep our produce pure and natural.
