It is almost always used as an aqueous solution, which is available in dilute form (3% to 10%) for household use and in concentrated form (greater than 30%) for industrial use. Hydrogen peroxide is unstable, decomposing readily to oxygen and water with release of heat. Commercial peroxide products contain a stabilizer (usually acetanilide) to slow the rate of spontaneous decomposition.
