409 stainless steel is a ferritic stainless steel commonly used in machinery, construction and other engineering. Due to the existence of austenite grains, its mechanical properties are greatly improved. And due to the addition of a lot of alloying elements, the strength and hardness are also greatly improved. It has good mechanical properties and high temperature corrosion resistance. It contains 11% chromium, the minimum required to form a passive surface film that makes stainless steel corrosion resistant. It combines good high temperature corrosion resistance with moderate strength, good formability and overall cost.

317L stainless steel is an austenitic stainless steel that contains a low carbon content and higher amounts of molybdenum and nickel compared to 304 stainless steel.
