Expanded clay is a lightweight porous building material obtained by firing clay or shale. Expanded clay gravel has an oval shape. Expanded clay rubble differs only in that its grains are mostly cubic in shape with sharp edges and corners. It is also produced in the form of sand - expanded clay sand.
Depending on the mode of processing of clay or slate, it is possible to obtain expanded clay of various bulk density (volumetric weight) - from 350 to 600 kg/mâ³ and above.

Abrasives black fused aluminium oxide
Black fused alumina, also called black fused aluminium oxide, black aluminum oxide, is a black color artificial corundum for abrasives. It's made of fusion of bauxite and reducing agent in electric arc furnace. Black fused aluminium oxide has certain content of ferro oxide and silicon oxide, which make it looks black. Black fused aluminium oxde has moderate hardness, less heat during abrasives, good strength and can be used for sand blasting, polishing, grinding of stainless steel and other non-metal surfaces. It can also be used for production of grinding wheel and cutting wheels.

White fused alumina for refractories
White fused alumina is made from redused fusion of high purity alumina powder whose content is aluminium oxide(al2o3). It has very high refractory temperature, acid and alkali corrosion resistant, stable in chemical content, high true gravity/density, low porosity rate, thermal shock resistant. China Clay also known as Kaolin or Hydrated Aluminum Silicate with a melting point of 740-1785C and its density is 2.65 g/cm3. China Clay with a chemical formula Al2O3, is a soft and earthy mineral. It appears to be Yellowish or Grayish or White colored powder which is odorless. It is available in abundant amount on the earth's crust. China Clay is a part of Kaolinite group of Clays, which are found in the rocks those are rich in Kaolinite mineral and so China Clay is just a Hydrated Aluminum Silicate derived from the mineral Kaolinite. Kaolin is generally insoluble in water or has low solubility, therefore develops earthly odor if hydrated. This product is customized as drilling mud based on good quality attapulgite clay. And it is applicable to geological drilling, marine drilling and geological drilling in salt containing area. It features good thermal stability and salt resistant property, therefore, the number of rejected wells will be small while using it to protect the wall of wells, and the drilling efficiency is improved and the cost is cut down as well.
Production performance and its application
1. This product features good colloidal and suspending properties, and is suitable to be used as drilling mud under various geological conditions.
2. Because of good thermal stability, it shows no flocculation or dilution under high temperature, therefore, it is applicable to deep drilling and terrestrial heat drilling.
3. Its salt resistant ability makes it free from being affected by electrolytes, thus it can still be in mud form even in saturated brine. It is appropriate for marine and salty stratum drilling.

Preparation of product
Add water to the product and stir the mixture in a homogenizer for 20 minutes. Then put in synergist and dehydration-weakening agent, etc. to prepare the required mud.
