The swollen kernel then undergoes extraction to isolate starch and oil. The remaining fiber or bran is combined with the steep liquor. The resulting wet corn gluten feed can be dried to approximately 90 percent dry matter, referred to as Dry Corn Gluten Feed.
When diets are formulated to fulfill protein requirements and are equivalent in energy, corn gluten feed approximates soybean meal as a protein source. However, it's essential to note that the amino acid content quality is inferior in corn gluten feed compared to soybean meal.
