Spices are the essential part of every household and we provide spices which are custom made to suit customer requirement and taste. Also spices can be used for for other purposes, such as medicine, religious rituals, cosmetics, perfumery or eating as vegetables. For example, turmeric is also used as a preservative; liquorice as a medicine; garlic as a vegetable. In some cases they are referred to by different terms. In the kitchen, spices are distinguished from herbs, which are leafy, green plant parts used for flavouring purposes. Herbs, such as basil or oregano, may be used fresh, and are commonly chopped into smaller pieces.

Spices, however, are dried and often ground or grated into a powder. Small seeds, such as fennel and mustard seeds, are used both whole and in powder form. Citronella oil is an essential oil that's made from the distillation of the Asian grass plant in the Cymbopogon genus. This fragrant grass got its name from the French word meaning lemon balm, due to its floral, citrus-like aroma.

Citronella oil is an essential oil obtained from the leaves and stems of different species of Cymbopogon (lemongrass). The oil is used extensively as a source of perfumery chemicals such as citronellal, citronellol, and geraniol.

In Indonesia in general, there are 2 types of fragrant lemongrass or citronella lemongrass (Cymbopogon nardus), namely the type of mahapengiri and the type of lenabatu. Mahapengiri can be identified from the shape of the leaves are shorter and wider than the leaves that are lenabatu. With distillation, this type gives higher oil yields than lenabatu, also of better quality, meaning that the content of geraniol and citronellal is higher than lenabatu. We use mahapengiri as the raw material for citronella oil and we always recommend farmers who are our partners to always use mahapengiri as the seeds of the citronella plant that are planted.

Citronella Essential Oil is extracted from the leaves of the plants via the steam distillation process. Fresh, dried, or partly dried grass is used to extract oil that gives it a fresh fragrance of lemon that is also very strong and powerful. The obtained oils are widely known to be an effective insect repellent and are also used in the manufacturing of soaps, perfumes, incense, etc.

The oil is used extensively as a source of perfumery chemicals such as citronellal, citronellol, and geraniol. These chemicals find extensive use in soap, candles and incense, perfumery, cosmetic, and flavouring industries throughout the world. Citronella oil is also a plant-based insect repellent and has been registered for this use in the United States since 1948. The United States Environmental Protection Agency considers oil of citronella as a biopesticide with a non-toxic mode of action. We get all our Citronella Oil from local Indonesian farmers and accumulators who harvest and process the crop through steam distillation to produce a crude form of Citronella Oil.
