Geosynthetic clay liners (gcl) is a bentonite layer sandwiched between a nonwoven geotextile as a cover layer and a woven geotextile as a carrier and reinforcement bottom layer, both connected through the process of needle punching thus can form many small fibrous spaces so that the bentonite particles can not flow in one direction. When the water in the pad to form a uniform high-density gel-like waterproof layer, can prevent water leakage effectively.

what is gcl?
gcl is blanket shape fabric that is produced by filling sodium base bentonite with high expansion between special composite earthwork cloth and non-woven cloth and locking bentonite on lower composite fabric through upper non-woven cloth fabric by special needle embroidering method. Bentonite anti-seepage liner produced by needle embroidering method can form many small fiber spaces, which prevent bentonite particles from moving in one direction, rubber head water layer with uniform high density is formed in the liner when meeting water so as to prevent water seepage effectively.

The products are used as a liquid and gas barrier in a wide variety of civil, geotechnical, environmental and hydraulic applications.
Uanda gcl is a sandwitch composite composed of three layer material. The upper side is needlepunched nonwoven geotextile of 200gsm and bottom part is 120gsm black pp woven, the bentonite powder is reinforced by through stitching the fiber of nonwoven into the pp woven. This is environmental protection waterproof material, which compacted to ccl(compacted clay liner), gcl have the self-sealing property if it meet the seam under the size of 5mm, also reducing the risk of operation in many construction site. GCL are high performance environmental liners comprised of a layer of low-permeability sodium bentonite combined with geosynthetic carriers, such as woven and/or nonwoven geotextiles, and in some cases polymer geomembranes. GCL have been proven to provide better engineered performance and durability than several feet of compacted clay with a total composite thickness of less than one quarter of an inch.
About the clay material, it is usually bentonite, which sandwiched between two layers geotextiles.
This lining mechanism is mechanically bonded by needle punching from one nonwoven geotextile
