Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate (SLES), also known as Sodium Laureth Sulfate, is an ethoxylated anionic surfactant. Commercial SLES is commonly available as a clear to pale-yellow liquid at approximately 28% active matter or as a viscous white/pale-yellow paste at approximately 70% active matter.

The SLES 70% grade is particularly suitable for manufacturers because its concentrated active content reduces the amount of water that needs to be transported and allows formulators to dilute it to their required concentration.
