Molmol is true myrrh from Commiphora myrrha. We buy it directly from harvesting families in the Sanaag highlands of northern Somaliland. It is graded at our facility in Burao and exported through Berbera.
The scent is bitter-sweet and smoky. Its character comes from furanosesquiterpenes, chiefly furanoeudesma-1,3-diene. Buyers use it for essential oil and tincture production, perfumery, incense and traditional preparations.
Grades: Select Cleaned, Standard, and Select Tears. Every grade is sorted by hand, and Molmol is never mixed with other Commiphora species.
