LDPE, which is generally colorless, translucent, flexible, odorless, tasteless plastic, is one of the most excellent properties of heat sealability and can be adhered at about 120 C. Because of this feature, it is widely used as an intermediate layer to connect two layers which do not stick to each other thermally in the coatings. It also has favorable properties such as being transparent and resistant to tearing, significantly reducing water vapor permeability, and significantly reducing its elasticity at low levels.
LLDPE is used in extrusion, blow molding film, roto-molding, injection molding for food-packaging, frozen food, floor-heating pipes, stretch film, cosmetics, and drugstore, etc. Besides, LLDPE is widely used as a carrier in masterbatch production.
GPPS, general-purpose polystyrene or crystal-clear polystyrene, is fully transparent yet brittle, a CD case, and is widely used in food packaging applications or jewel cases.
HIPS, high impact polystyrene, is polystyrene, which has butadiene rubber as an impact modifier, giving the material good impact performance but losing the transparency.
