Our Chinese-style Orthodox Black Tea (Hong cha) is a premium loose leaf tea crafted in the lush highlands of Murang'a County, Kenya, using carefully selected green leaf from the renowned Ikumbi tea-growing region. Ikumbi has earned recognition for producing exceptional quality green leaf, making it the preferred location for the establishment of Kenya's orthodox tea production in partnership with Chinese tea specialists. The region's high altitude, fertile volcanic soils, abundant rainfall, and cool climate provide ideal conditions for cultivating tea with remarkable brightness, aroma, and complexity. This exceptional terroir enables us to produce teas that consistently meet the expectations of discerning international buyers.

Unlike conventional CTC teas, our Hong cha is manufactured using the traditional process under the guidance of experienced Chinese tea masters who bring generations of expertise in the art of fine tea making. Every stage â?? from the careful selection of one bud and two leaves, through controlled withering, precision rolling, oxidation, and drying â?? is meticulously managed to preserve the integrity of the leaf and develop a naturally sweet, smooth, and aromatic liquor.
