Sumatra Benzoin is a balsamic resin that exudes from the bark of trees in the genus Styrax. The balsam is harvested by making incisions in the bark. Sumatra Benzoin is extracted from Styrax Benzoin and Styrax Paralleoneurus, which are native to the island of South Sumatra. Our Benzoin has best quality resin and contain Cinnamic Acid, Benzoate Acid, Styrol, Vanillin, Styracin, Coniferil Cinamat and Benzoe Resin. Benzoin Sumatra is widely used in various industries.
FRAGRANCES & PERFUMES INDUSTRY
Benzoin has been used as fix-active, the agent that holds the scent to stay longer. It also used as a fix-agent, which acts as a several kinds of perfumes to obtain a better aroma. Through etherification process, the Cinnamic Acid can form Methyl and Ethyl Ester. In addition, it is used as a fixative in perfumes, slowing the dispersion of essential oils and other fragrance materials into the air.
In the Personal Care industry, Benzoin resin is used as a skin treatment and cleanser. It can be mixed with glycerine to moisturise chapped hands and to treat cracked nipples caused by breast-feeding
