Chemical property: insoluble in water, soluble in acid and alkali, slowly soluble in acetic acid, ammonia water, it has strong reducing performance and give out hydrogen. Lumps when being wet, keeps stable in dry air and generates white basic carbonate covering in its surface in wet air. When combusting in the air, it can generate blue green flame and generate zinc oxide. High pure zinc act slowly with sulfuric acid and nitric acid, while act fast when it contains few of other metals such as steel, tin and lead.
