The choice of an organic method, that has the endorsement of IBD (The Biodynamic Institute) gives this gourmet coffee a special flavor.
A flavor of purity: the fruit of a soll that receives no chemicals. Its harvesting is also a guarantee of what is the utmost in a coffee: it takes from the tree the ripe and red grains only, the "cherries", that are afterwards sundried and, once more, (electronically selected to arrive at a defect-free product).
These cares, added to a balanced blend of grains from the best Brazilian lands, makes of Cia. Organica a rare coffee and a delight for the taste buds.
The IBD is a certifier organization, internationally recognized acrredited by IFOAM (International Federation of Agriculture Movements) and DAR (Deutscher Akkreditierungs Rat).
Certificates: IBD - IFOAM - USDA Organic - RAT - JAS
This Limu coffee comes from the Western part of Ethiopia near the forests that are the birthplace of Arabica coffee. Limu coffee is grown at elevations ranging from 3,600 to 6,200 feet in the southwest/southcentral Ethiopia producing medium-sized coffee beans with a distinctive roundish shape and green colour. Limu is a market name.
Limu lies within the Djimma zone in the western highlands of Oromia, Ethiopia. The area is famous for its forests and abundant supply of water. The forests create the perfect conditions for the organic matter like fallen leaves and dead trees to compost and return their nutrients to the soil.
Ethiopia Sidamo 2 is a classic in every coffee range and especially popular in blends. The cup quality can be very surprising for prices well below the grade 1 price point. For us, grade 2 coffee typically sits around an 83-84 cup score.
The Ethiopia Limu coffee is an aromatic, sweet and complex coffee. Melon and soft florals dominate the aroma with a lemon-candy acidity on the first sip. As it cools, the Limu grows sweeter, with notes of apricot, melon and a smooth milk chocolate finish. The sweetness and light body make the Limu incredibly drinkable all day long.
