Canadian red lentils known as Masoor in South Asian markets are among the most traded pulse commodities in the world. Canada accounts for over 35% of global red lentil production, grown primarily in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The semi-arid prairie climate produces lentils with exceptional protein content (24 - 26%), low moisture, and outstanding cooking quality.
Origin & Harvest
Our red lentils are sourced direct from grower-shippers in Saskatchewan's brown and dark-brown soil zones the heart of Canada's pulse belt. Planting runs mid-May, harvest from late August through September. New-crop availability begins October each year, with old-crop carry stocks supplied through Q2 of the following calendar year.
