The difference between ductile iron and gray iron
1. Different chemical composition
Nodular cast iron contains nodular graphite, which can improve its toughness and strength, while reducing brittleness. Gray cast iron contains a lot of carbon, so that its hardness and wear resistance is high, but the toughness is poor.
2. Different organizational structures
The structure of nodular cast iron contains nodular and ferrite, and the distribution of nodular is uniform. While the structure of gray cast iron is mainly ferrite and pearlite, and the distribution of pearlite is uneven.
3. Different performance
Ductile iron has high strength and toughness, and has good corrosion resistance. It is uitable for the manufacture of high load and high pressure parts. The hardness and wear resistance of gray cast iron are high. It is suitable for the manufacture of friction and wear parts.
Application field
Cast iron : because of its low strength and good vibration resistance. It is often used in the production of parts under compressive stress, such as box, base, etc.
Ductile iron : because of its high strength and good toughness. It is often used in the manufacture of parts requiring high strength and toughness, such as crankshaft, connecting rod and so on.

Diameter from DN80 to DN2600, the effective length of each pipe will be 6 or 8.15 meters. The thickness of pipes can be K8, K9, K10, K12
The pipes up to DN300 will be packed in bundles, above in loose. the fittings up to DN600 will be packed in wooden crates, above in pallets.

The production capacity of ductile iron pipes (dn80-2600) per year can reach fifteen thousands tons. The standard are according to iso 2531. Bs 4772. Bsen 545, en598. We can also produce ductile iron fittings(dn80-2600) in accordance with iso 2531. Bs 4772. En 545. Awwa c110, c153(8inch-56inch) fitting socket is push-on joint. Flange joints are dimensioned and drilled according to iso 2531, pn 10, pn 16 and pn 25. All the fittings are class 12 except the tees, which are class k14. The external protection of all the fittings is by zinc and bitumen /epoxy painting according to iso 8179 and the internal protection of all the fittings is by cement mortar acc. To iso 4179. We also produce and weld various kinds of flange pipes according to the requirement of the customer.
