PETRA PSI, a liquid polyamine shale inhibitor, is used in water-based mud systems, drill-in fluids, and polymer-based drilling. Adding a Polyamine Shale Stabilizer directly does not affect the viscosity or filtration properties of the mud system. It effectively prevents shale, clay, or cuttings from hydrating in reactive shale and clays, reducing the risk of bit balling. Additionally, it strengthens the borehole, provides lubricity, and increases ROP, making it a useful shale stabilizer.
To ensure wellbore stability during high-rate water packs, it can also be utilized as a shale inhibitor in gravel pack fluids. It can tolerate common impurities including cement, hard water, CO2, drill cuttings, and crude oil. Polyamine Shale Inhibitor must be handled as an industrial chemical, which requires the use of protective equipment and adherence to the precautions indicated in the MSDS. MSDS will only be supplied upon request.
