Stearyl alcohol, also known as 1-octadecanol, n-octadecanol, molecular formula is C18H38O, belongs to the long chain high carbon fatty alcohols. The appearance is white flake or needle crystal, or block solid, fragrant odor, small volatility, insoluble in water, soluble in chlorofor m, alcohol, ether, aceton e, benzene and other organic solvents.
Application
1. It can be used as an additive for oil-based fracturing fluid instead of hexadecanol. Stearyl alcohol can be used in the production of Pingjia, resin and synthetic rubber, color film couplers, etc.
2. Used as chromatographic reagent. It is also used as surfactant and lubricant and for organic synthesis.
3. It can also be used as raw materials for manufacturing defoamer, flotation agent, softener, rice field heat preservation agent, water surface covering agent, and medical ointment.
