In the crust, iron-mafic rocks contain more nickel than silico-alumina rocks. For example, peridotite contains 1,000 times more nickel than granite, and gabbro contains 80 times more nickel than granite.
On October 27, 2017, the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer released the preliminary list of carcinogens for reference. Nickel compounds are in the list of carcinogens, metal cobalt, metal nickel and 66-67% nickel, 13-16% nickel.
