Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Nucleic Acid Detection Kit (RT-PCR) is used for nucleic acid detection of the ORF1ab sequence and N gene of the Novel Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) in nasopharyngeal swab, oropharyngeal swab, sputum and other specimens.
The primer and probe sets in this kit are designed for the detection of the conserved sequences of SARS-CoV-2 (ORF1ab and N gene). The kit also contains an Internal Control (human RNase P gene) that is used to assess specimen quality and avoid a false negative result. Real-Time PCR technology utilizes polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for the amplification of specific target sequences and target specific probes for the detection of the amplified RNA. The probes are labelled with fluorescent reporter and quencher dyes.
