How to Use the CPR Pocket Mask:
Preparation
If available, put on protective gloves.
Unfold the mask and ensure that the filter is securely in place.
Positioning
For Adults and Pediatric Patients:
Place the rim of the mask between the lower lip and chin. Position the â??noseâ?? part over the nose.
For Infants:
Reverse the mask direction so the nose area is under the chin.
Sealing and Ventilation
Seal the mask against the patientâ??s face as illustrated.
Blow slowly into the one-way valve until you see the chest rise.
Exhalation
Remove your mouth and allow the patient to exhale. Repeat as per CPR guidelines.
If the patient vomits, promptly remove the mask and clear the airway.
Using with Oxygen (if necessary):
Attach the oxygen tubing to the optional oxygen port.
Set the flow rate accordingly. For spontaneously breathing patients, use the head strap to position the mask properly.
