It also inhibits the growth of bacteria, yeast, and mold. It's used in canned mushrooms, candied, vermicelli, and other products to whiten them, keep them fresh, and extend their shelf life. It is used in shrimp, maraschino cherries, lemon drinks, and other products to preserve their color and prevent discoloration. It's also used in wine, beer, juice, and other beverages to prevent spoilage and fermentation, and to enhance their flavor and clarity and in biscuit, baked food, and bread to act as a leavening agent and to improve their texture and volume. Primarily used as a dairy cow feed supplement, the buffering capability of Natural Soda's pure and natural feed grade sodium bicarbonate helps stabilize rumen pH by reducing acidic conditions.
Improves calcium absorption and eggshell quality of laying hens during peak production.
This grade is intended for general applications like chemical synthesis, dyes, leather, fire extinguishers, water treatment, plastic molding, flue gas treatment & in the drilling industry, sodium bicarbonate is used to chemically treat drilling mud when it becomes contaminated with calcium ions from cement or lime.
It is NOT intended for applications, directly or indirectly, related to human consumption.
Sodium metabisulfite is white or yellow crystalline powder or small crystal, with a strong SO2 odor, soluble in water, the aqueous solution is acidic, when contacted with strong acid, SO2 is released to form corresponding salts, and it is oxidized to Na2S2O6 when placed in the air for a long time. Therefore, the product cannot be stored for a long time. Above 150 degrees Celsius, SO2 is decomposed.
