This kind of catalyst which is also named sulfuric acid catalyst, and specially used to convert sulfur dioxide into sulfur trioxide in the process of sulfuric acid manufacturing.
The catalyst is filled into each bed of the convertor.
Generally speaking, the convertor equipment can be classified into two large systems.
Double contact double absorption and single contact single absorption.
We can supply mainly two large series catalyst as below.
1). Type S101 series of broad temperature catalyst
The ignition temperature is 400â??. For continuous operation, the temperature should be in the range 420-620â??, which is suitable for each bed of converter for its high and stable activity.
2). Type S108 series of low temperature catalyst
The ignition temperature is 380â?? and operating temperature 400-540â??, which suit for 1/3 top of the first bed to decrease inlet operating temperature, and 4th bed, 5th bed to improve equilibrium conversion and decrease gas emission.
3). Different catalyst shape is the reason to reduce catalyst bed pressure drops which translates directly into energy savings as a result of reduced blower power consumption.
