1. PRODUCT OVERVIEW
VHR steel strip-seal joint made by Vinh Hung Investment and Production Co., Ltd (Vinh Hung IP) comprises of two steel rails with anchor bars connected to embedded bars in the pier cap of headwall of abutment, elastomeric strip serves
as the trough for drainage and debris, nosing materials: non-shrink mortar or concrete with minimum compressive strength of 40MPa.
There are 2 main types of VHR expansion joint identified by the cross section of the steel rails: VHR-C steel rail expansion joint and VHR-F steel rail expansion joint.
2. PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS
Totally accommodate to longitudinal movement up to
100mm, and also vertical and transverse movements if any.
Simple in design and installation, high load capacity and
durability.
Designed suitably for flush curb and central reverse.
Totally water-tight.
To ensure the long-lasting durability, VHR steel strip
expansion joints are protected from corrosion with methods
such as: 2-component epoxy coating, PU-based painting
(Polyurethane), hot dip galvanization according to ASTM A123 standards and especially the Al â?? Mg spraying method (at the ratio of 5% Al and 95% Mg) which ensures anti-corrosion durability of up to 100 years, proven by salt-spraying test in 6000 hours (8-hour dry-wet cycle repetition) under ASTM B117 standards.

Installation of joints is critical to ensure the lifespan of the expansion joint and smooth traffic. Careful preparation of
machinery, equipment, and highly specialized human resources is required for the installation of high quality expansion joints. The installation method shall be strictly followed to guarantee the actual performance of the product in service.
1. After finishing pavement, cut and clean he trend, adjust embedded bars, laym reinforcement bars on site
2 . Fix the deformed bars, install the fabricated joints, add distribution bars, anchoring bars to embedded bars.

Cure concrete, install rubber seal, allow traffic when concrete

Install formworks and pour non-shrink mortar or high-strength concrete to transition section, check the leveling of
surface.
