Double-glazed units are often referred to as (DGU's) double-glazed units or (IGU's) insulated glass units.
Double Glazing consists of two pieces of glass with a spacer bar in between that creates an airspace, which is then sealed together producing a completely sealed insulated glass unit (IGU).
Laminated glass is constructed of two plies of glass which are bonded together with interlayers to form a permanent bond. The interlayers work to support and hold the glass to create a strong, uniform layer even when broken.
