Applications of 5N Tungsten Rods
1. Semiconductor Manufacturing Used as target materials for resistance layers and diffusion barrier layers in very-large-scale integrated (VLSI) circuits.
2. Lighting Industry serves as key material for electrodes and filaments in gas discharge lamps and other high-temperature lighting devices.
3. Electronics & Optics Applied in the production of high-purity electronic components and optical equipment.
4. High-Temperature Equipment Utilized as heating elements and structural components in high-temperature furnaces.
5. Crystal Growth High-purity tungsten crucibles (made from 5N tungsten rods) are used for sapphire crystal growth and rare-earth smelting.
6. Aerospace and Aviation Widely used in gyroscope components, missile guidance systems, aircraft/helicopter lift control systems, rudder balancing devices, wing control modules, and aircraft shock absorbers, offering exceptional stability and strong antiinterference performance.
7. Military / Defense Used in armor-piercing projectiles (AP), cluster munitions, spheres, rods, blocks, shaped-charge components, and nuclear weapon parts. Can be manufactured into alloy balls ranging from 3.0-15.0 mm, offering excellent ballistic performance.
8. Radiation Shielding 5N high-purity tungsten, with its very high density, provides effective shielding against X-rays and gamma rays, making it an ideal radiation-shielding material.
Advantages
1. High Density: Tungsten alloys possess extremely high density, enabling efficient absorption of high-energy radiation.
2. Environmentally Friendly & Non-Toxic: Compared with lead, tungsten alloys are environmentally safer and non-toxic, while offering superior shielding performance making them an ideal replacement for lead.
3. Wide Range of Applications: Widely used in military, nuclear power, medical imaging, and detection equipment such as shielding plates for nuclear-powered systems, shielding components for nuclear submarines, and radiation shielding for medical X-ray and gamma ray devices.
4. Working Principle: Tungsten alloys block or absorb penetrating radiation particles (such as gamma rays and X-rays) through their high density, thereby reducing radiation permeability and protecting personnel from exposure.
