Polraha Organic Desiccated Coconut is made from the fresh kernel of the coconut. It is dried and cut into one of the two following sizes - Medium and Fine. It has between 63-68% fat, a moisture below 3% and a creamy white appearance. Desiccated Coconut, also known as DC, is used for baking, confectionery and regularly day-to-day cooking
The Sri Lankan DC is obtained by dehydration of the white meat from the matured coconuts selected from well maintained coconut estates for both conventional and organic varieties. The sri lankan desiccated coconut is in great demand due to its unique natural color and flavour.
The high fat fine, medium, and coarse grades/cuts are regularly used in the bakery and confectionery industries, fillers for the chocolate and as toppings for cakes.
