Applications
Palm Kernel Cake is high-fibre, medium grade protein feed best suited to ruminants. Composed of 16% fibre and high phosphorus to calcium ratio and contains such essential elements as magnesium, iron and zinc.
Palm kernel cake is a feed with high fiber and protein which is very suitable to be given to ruminants. Among the types of feeds available, palm kernel cake ranks higher than copra cake and cocoa pod husk, but lower than fish meal and groundnut cake in terms of protein content.
With a fiber content of 16% in it, palm kernel cake also has a high phosphorus-to-calcium ratio and contains essential elements such as magnesium, iron and zinc. The average ratio required to feed the livestock consisted of palm kernel cake (50%), molasses (5%), grass/straw (42%), limestone (1.5%), mineral premix (1%) and salt ( 0.5%) and trace elements/vitamin premix.
