The switchable film is also called Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal(PDLC).
Switchable film is an electronically controlled film which becomes transparent from a opaque state at the flick of a switch . When the power is applied, the liquid crystal molecules line up and the incident light passes througt,the smart film becomes transparent from an opaque state. On the other hand, when the power is off, the liquid crystal molecules are randomly oriented so that light is scattered, results in opaque state.The switchable film provides a next generation alternative to blinds or privacy in daily life. It is the ideal choice for commercial or residential installations.

Switchable privacy film for lamination is just protected by protective sheet and should be laminated between two piece of glass. The film offers instant privacy at the flick of a switch after lamination! It works on an electrical principle switching from opaque to transparent when power is applied.

Switchable smart film is a liquid crystal ( LC ) produce based on polymer dispersed liquid crystal ( PDLC ) technology and two semiconductor films of indium tin oxide ( ITO ) films used as electrodes. Protective layers of thermoplastic ( PET ) are used to protect the film from scratches . The transparency of the smart film can be adjusted with the help of alternating current. Smart film is made of two types - self-adhesive, which can be glued to ordinary glass, and not a self-adhesive film used for the production of smart glass .
