Light liquid paraffin, also known as white oil, is named Light liquid paraffin, Paraffinum Liquidum Leve, or Light mineral oil English. Light liquid paraffin is actually a mixture of various liquid saturated hydrocarbons derived from petroleum, mainly containing paraffin and cycloalkanes; its general chemical structure is generally considered to be C2n 2, and the United States Pharmacopeia (USP NF20) allows it to contain appropriate stabilizers such as BHA, BHT, or vitamin E.
The applications of light liquid paraffin are similar to those of liquid paraffin, mainly used as an excipient in topical drug formulations, utilizing its emollient properties as a component of ointment. In addition, light liquid paraffin is also used in oil-in-water emulsions and polyethylene glycol, and can serve as a solvent and lubricant for tablets and capsules as well as an oily medium in many drug microencapsulation processes. Our company's production method uses relatively high-quality food-grade light liquid paraffin produced by hydrogenation as material, employing refining techniques to improve the quality indicators and enhance the quality of light liquid paraffin, so as to meet the quality requirements of Part II of the 2015 of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia.
