Production of Cold-Bonded Briquettes
Cold-bonded briquetting is an energy-efficient agglomeration process that forms fine metallurgical and mineral materials into dense briquettes at room temperature without high-temperature sintering. It starts with raw material preparation, including crushing, screening, and proportioning iron ore fines, dust, mill scale, or other recycled fines. Next, the prepared materials are thoroughly mixed with a specialized cold binder and water in a high-efficiency mixer to ensure uniform distribution.
The blended mixture is then fed into a roll briquetting press, where high pressure compacts it into shaped green briquettes. These green briquettes go through low-temperature drying or natural curing to enhance strength, drop resistance, and thermal stability. The final products feature uniform size, high mechanical strength, and good metallurgical performance, suitable for blast furnaces, converters, and smelting systems.
This technology cuts energy use and carbon emissions greatly, enables recycling of industrial dust and sludge, reduces waste and transport costs, and supports green and circular production in metallurgy and mining.

Briquette Binder Introduction
Briquette binder is a core auxiliary material for industrial powder agglomeration, widely used in metallurgy, mining, steelworks, energy and environmental protection. It effectively bonds iron ore fines, nickel ore, steel slag, dust, coal powder and other loose particles into high-strength briquettes, greatly reducing dust loss and improving transport and smelting efficiency.
Our binder features low addition rate, fast forming, high cold/hot strength, good water resistance and low ash content. It is sulfur-free, phosphorus-free and eco-friendly, compatible with various briquetting machines without affecting furnace performance. It supports cold-bonded process, cuts drying energy cost and boosts product yield. Suitable for mineral powder, sludge, dust and other difficult-to-form materials, it helps enterprises realize resource recycling and clean production.
This equipment can cold press the powdered and granular cast iron filings, steel filings, copper filings, aluminum filings, etc. directly into 3~6kg cylindrical briquettes for transportation, furnace throwing, and the whole process without heating-up, additives, or other processes. The density of cast iron filings can reach 5~6t/m3 after pressing.
The product can also adopt domestic or imported hydraulic and electrical components according to customers' requirements, with automatic feeding and weighing devices.
