Product Introduction
Nutmeg is the inner brown kernel of the fruit of nutmeg tree, a tropical evergreen tree, indigenous to Mollucas of Indonesia. Nutmeg has a characteristic of pleasant fragrance and is slightly warm in taste. For a long time, Indonesia was known as the largest exporter of worldwide nutmeg commodities.
The first grading of shelled nutmegs is effected by flotation in water using the principle of varying density. The procedure is to place nutmegs in a wicker basket. The wicker basket is then immersed in water held in a concrete trough to a level just about 2.54 cm below its rim. The nutmegs are then agitated by hand. Once stirring stops, some nutmegs are seen to remain at the bottom of the basket while others float. The nutmegs remaining at the bottom are classified as Sound Shriveled.

Nutmeg is a spice from the seed of the nutmeg tree (Myristica fragrant), a native Indonesian evergreen tree in Banda Island, cultivated for two spices derived from its fruit : nutmeg from its seed, and mace from the seed covering.
To make nutmeg as a spice, the nutmeg seeds are dried gradually in the sun over a period of six to eight weeks. During this time, the nutmeg shrinks away from its hard seed coat. The spice is ready when the kernels rattle in their shells when shaken, then the nutmeg is separated from the outer coat(the mace).Â

Nutmegs are evergreen trees, native to the rainforest of Indonesian Moluccas Island, also known as the Spice Islands. This spice is a good source of minerals like copper, potassium, calcium, manganese, iron, zinc and magnesium.

Nutmeg is the spice made by grinding the seed of the fragrant nutmeg (Myristica fragrans) tree into powder. The spice has a distinctive pungent fragrance and a warm slightly sweet taste; it is used to flavor many kinds of baked goods, confections, puddings, potatoes, meats, sausages, sauces, vegetables, and such beverages as eggnog.[3]
