Acetylated Oxidized starch is chemically two stage modified tapioca starch. It is produced by oxidation of a slurry of starch granules in alkaline hypochlorite at low temperature (21-38°C )
The starch is then esterified with acetic anhydride under mildly alkaline conditions. The product is neutralized with hydrochloric acid, washed, and dried.
Feature: Acetylated Oxidized starch is used in paper industry mainly in surface treatment process in order to: Improve the paper surface strength (burst strength at high level), smoothness and stiffness of the paper/ Improve printing properties/ Improve the ability of waterproof paper with adhesive surface quality/ Improve anti- dusting of paper surface/ Good compatibility with most chemicals used in surface sizing solution (Size press)
