The Pendulum impact is applicable to the determination of impact toughness of non-metallic materials such as hard plastics, reinforced nylon, glass reinforced plastics, ceramics, cast stones, and electrical insulating materials. In testing various hard, the test piece of plastic material is subjected to certain angles and the energy absorbed by a certain weight can be determined to determine the toughness of the material.
