MEMS 16x16 Matrix Switch is an integrated switch module based on MEMS 1x16 Optical Switch components. Thirty-two MEMS 1x16 switches, sixteen for inputs and the other sixteen for outputs, are interconnected to form a fully non-blocking, two stage, optical cross-connect. Under this matrix switch platform, different MEMS 1xN switches can be used to form customized MxN Switch Matrices.
Pin Assignmentsï¼?
The MEMS 1xN Switch operates through a 16-pin interface. Pin assignments are listed in the following table. The relative position of each pin is presented in Figure 1.

FAST FIBER OPTIC 2x2 MEMS SWITCH
The 2x2 MEMS SWITCH are opto-mechanical latching switches for the most demanding applications in fiber optic communication networks. The switch is available in 1x1, 2x1 and 2x2 variants and offers solid state reliability, accurate precision and fast response time. The switch mechanism is latching and has a very fast response time below 1 ms and only 0.5 dB insertion loss. In the SLTS variant the switch comes with a built in position monitor to sense the state of the switch. The miniature package withstands rugged environments and is well suited for direct mounting on printed circuit boards. The switch is qualified according to Telcordia GR 1221.

The 4x4 switch is a very fast opto-mechanical switch working over the spectrum from 1250 nm to
1650nm. The component is designed for optical switching in fiber optical instruments and networks.
The highly reliable switching mechanism uses integrated micro mirrors and features fast switching
time below 1 ms and below 2.0 dB insertion loss. The miniature package withstands rugged
environments and is well suited for direct mounting on printed circuit boards. The switch is built by
cascading 1x2 and 2x2submodules which are qualified according to Telcordia GR 1221.

DESCRIPTION
The 4X4 switches are composed of an optical subsystem and an electrical driver interface. The
optical switching function is realized by silicon MEMS chips, on which a mirror can be moved in
and out of the optical path by electrostatic actuation. The 4x4 switching function is realized by
interconnecting 1x2 and 2x2 switch elements. In the latching SL variant a bistable suspension
mechanism keeps the last selected state in power off. In the non-latching SW variant the switch
elements return into the bar state when electrical power is removed.

The 8X8 all-optical network switch module is a compact, high-performance and ultra-low power fully non-blocking all-optical 8 port any-to-any matrix switch module. This unique customer configurable single-sided switch design allows any of the 8 ports to be connected to any other ports enabling new interconnection architectures not possible with traditional symmetric NxN switch matrixes. The ultracompact size and low-power usage make this an ideal choice for OEM applications and enables the switch to be mounted onto pluggable circuit packs. It is designed to meet the highest performance and reliability needs of the most demanding applications with exceptionally low optical loss, compact size, low power requirements and fast switching speeds.
