Algae Belt Filtration Harvester

The machine had already been in operation for 6 months at one of our customers and was then taken back by us due to a plant closure. The machine has been completely overhauled and is in a visually and technically as good as new condition.

Product description & technical details:

The device has fill level and product sensors which allow a coordinated product supply via an external feed pump and, in the present semi-automatic version, a production stop when the predefined harvest quantity is reached. (integration into a fully automated production system is possible). A continuous filter belt with a pore size of 80 µm enables the continuous separation of filamentous algae. The biomass accumulates on the filter belt as a 2-4 mm layer and is scraped off by an adjustable scraper. A product pre-filter (pore size 1-2 mm) ensures that no particulate impurities get into the harvested product. The NOVAgreen belt filter system also features automatic self-cleaning of the filter belt with control water, before, during and after harvesting.

In our own production facility (Open Pond System), we achieve an average harvested biomass with a dry weight (DM) of 10-12%, depending on the initial cell density of the Spirulina culture (usually 0.5-1.5 g/L). Approx. 2500 - 5000 L / hour of algae culture are processed under these conditions. With higher initial densities, such as those achieved with closed photobioreactors, significantly higher dry matter contents and process flow rates can be achieved.
