Structure and Working Principle
The BOP Ram operates through a hydraulic system that actuates a pair of gates (rams) to close off the wellbore. The closing action is driven by hydraulic cylinders, which force the rams together to either seal around the drill pipe or completely shut off the bore when the pipe is absent.



Main Components of BOP Ram Include:
Blowout Preventer Body: The primary pressure-bearing vessel subjected to wellbore pressure.

Hydraulic Opening and Closing Ports: Connect to hydraulic lines for operating the rams and facilitating maintenance.

Bonnet (Valve Cover): A part of the hydraulic system, which houses internal components and can be opened via a gate replacement piston.
