Fe2O3

Limonite (yellow iron oxide) is one of the known iron ores, consisting of a mixture of (hydroxide of hydrated iron(III) oxide) and has the general formula FeO(OH)nH2O, and it can also be expressed by this formula 2Fe2O3.3H2O, i.e. hydrated iron oxide, has an orthorhombic crystal system or sometimes botryoidal or other, and has a hardness ranging between (4 - 5.5), has a yellowish-brown or lemon-yellow color, is opaque, and has an earthy luster.... * Its occurrence in nature: - Limonite is formed by the hydration process of hematite and magnetite, and it also results from the oxidation of sulfide minerals rich in iron or chemical weathering of minerals rich in iron such as (olivine, pyroxene, amphibole) ..... Therefore, it is found within igneous or sedimentary rocks in the form of lenses or layers, and also in Gossan areas where they are rich in minerals and other materials ..... * Important notes: -
