SATINATED GLASS

The acid etching or satina process is the removal of silisyum particles from the surface of glass using acid. In this way microscopic cavities occur on the glass surface and due to the refraction occurring in different directions our eyes perceive the glass to be white.

It's greatest advantage against sanded glass is that it does not allow fingerprints and that it's cleaning is much easier. It has a much finer surface compared to sanded glass.

Laser Reflection And Refraction Tank


Laser Reflection and Refraction Tank demonstrates the principle of reflection and refraction. The clear circular acrylic tank has a circular scale graduated on the white base of the tank, making it easy to measure angles. Adjust the pivot-arm mounted laser to any angle along with its full 360�° range and measure the angle of reflection or refraction. Rotate the laser and observe first a reflected ray, then both a reflected and refracted ray, and finally just a refracted ray. Leveling screws on the tank's base make leveling quick and easy. These work on the principle of difference in reflective indices of liquid in the tank and possible presence of gas with the liquid. The liquid will be black display while the gas or vapor will be white display.
