Test Principle:
The BS 476-4 test determines the combustibility of a material by placing it inside a vertical tube furnace maintained at a set temperature (typically 750850°C). The temperature change caused by the test sample, and any visible flaming, smoke, or structural degradation, is measured and compared with inert reference materials. This test is essential for ensuring materials do not contribute to the spread of fire.
