The Frame of this version of the Cannondale Scalpel-Si is made with their BallisTec Carbon with intermediate modulus fibers. This material is less expensive than the Hi-Mod fiber but is still plenty light enough to conquer climbs with ease while holding a similar level of stiffness and deflection as its more expensive counterpart. This frame is designed to keep you flying up climbs while keeping the same stiffness and sprinting power you expect. The Scalpel-Si frame is one of the most complete all-around performing cross-country bikes on the market.

Modern cross-country geometry keeps the Scalpel-Si rider comfortably in position to hit high speeds on the trail. It features a low flat back to create a more centered weight distribution. Short chainstays are utilized for extra traction and agility. A slack head angle and OutFront steering technology adds to that speed and provides extra stability. Cannondales signature Lefty Ocho fork is smooth and precise while cutting down on weight and allowing for extra tire clearance. Cannondale refers to it as the best XC fork on the market. It adds to the smooth, fast, and precise ride you already expect from a Scalpel-Si.
