In rigid polyurethane foam systems, the isocyanate component is commonly known as "polyurethane black material." It is a mixture of higher-functionality isocyanates and MDI, with a functionality of about 2.6â??2.7. It is a dark brown liquid at room temperature, with higher viscosity than the "white material" (polyether polyol blend). When mixed in proportion, the two react to form rigid polyurethane foam with closed-cell structures â?? an ideal organic insulation material featuring low thermal conductivity, energy efficiency, and strong adaptability. It can be pre-molded or spray/pour molded on site, and is widely used in refineries, chemical plants, cold storage, refrigeration, refrigerators, and building insulation.
