Manganese Dioxide

Manganese dioxide is an inorganic oxide compound with the chemical formula MnOâ?? and a relative molecular mass of 86.94. It appears as black orthorhombic crystals or a brownish-black powder, with crystal structures including �±, �², �³, �´, and �µ forms. Its relative density is 5.026, and its hardness is 2â??2.5. It is insoluble in water and nitric acid, but soluble in hydrochloric acid, oxalic acid, and acetone. Manganese dioxide is an amphoteric oxide with strong oxidizing ability. In hot concentrated sulfuric acid, it releases oxygen and forms manganese(II) sulfate. In hydrochloric acid, it releases chlorine and forms manganese(II) chloride. When fused with caustic alkalis and oxidizing agents, it releases carbon dioxide and forms permanganates.

Usage Scope: 1.Dry battery factories and lithium battery cathode material factories the largest and most core market. It is used as a depolarizer in zinc carbon batteries; as a cathode material in alkaline manganese batteries; and also used in the production of lithium manganese oxide (LiMn O ) as a cathode material for lithium batteries.
2.Ceramics factories, glass factories, enamel factories, and glaze factories used as a coloring agent, providing colors such as purple, black, and brown to products; also used as a decolorizer in glass production to eliminate the blue green color caused by iron impurities in the raw materials.
