Cluster Beans

Cluster beans, also known as Guar or Gawar Phali, are a popular vegetable from the legume family (Fabaceae), widely cultivated in India and tropical regions. They are slender, green pods containing small seeds and are known for their slightly bitter yet unique taste.

Cluster beans are not only consumed as a fresh vegetable but are also an important commercial crop because their seeds are processed to produce guar gum, which is widely used in the food, textile, paper, and pharmaceutical industries.

They are highly nutritious, rich in dietary fiber, plant protein, iron, calcium, and vitamins. As a vegetable, cluster beans are commonly cooked in stir-fries, curries, and dals.
