Haynes 625 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with niobium/tantalum added to enhance its corrosion resistance and strength at elevated temperatures. It is one of the most widely used superalloys due to its exceptional mechanical properties, high corrosion resistance, and ease of fabrication.
Haynes 625 has excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in chloride-containing environments, making it suitable for use in marine and chemical processing applications. It also exhibits high resistance to oxidation and scaling at elevated temperatures up to 1000â??, making it suitable for use in high-temperature applications such as gas turbines, furnace components, and heat exchangers.
Haynes 625 can be easily fabricated by various methods including welding, forging, and machining. It can be used in both as-welded and annealed conditions. It is available in various forms such as plates, sheets, bars, and tubes, and is widely used in industries such as aerospace, chemical processing, oil and gas, and nuclear power.
