Whilest, Malaysia various sand mining regions such as Kuantan, Johor , Kuala Lampur , Perak etc & 15 meetings with various business owners , agents & government officals it is concluded that only 1 Company is currently allowed to export River Sand from Malaysia . This company is owned by the King/ Sultan of Kuantan & is the only legal permit holder for the export of River Sand from Kuantan region.
The quality of Sand from Kuantan Mines is appropriate & suitable for construction and plastering purposes. Currently the sand is being exported from these mines to South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Brunei , China, India , Maldives & Mauritius.
