Cyclohexane, also known as hexahydrobenzene, is an organic compound with the molecular formula. At room temperature, it is a colorless, transparent liquid with a pungent odor. It is volatile and flammable. Cyclohexane occurs naturally in certain crude oils at concentrations of approximately 0.5-1.0%.The cyclohexane molecule exhibits two unique conformations: the "boat" form and the "chair" form. At room temperature, it predominantly exists in the chair conformation, with only about 1 in every 1,000 molecules adopting the boat conformation.
